The Costa Rica Hermosa coffee originates from the Santa Maria de Dota region in the famed TarrazĂș area, grown at altitudes between 1,500 and 1,800 meters above sea level. The community behind this coffee is rooted in tradition and resilience. Before the establishment of CoopeDota R.L., local farmers struggled with limited knowledge, unfair pricing from middlemen, and long distances to wet mills. The cooperative, born out of these challenges, empowered producers with agronomy expertise, fairer systems, and better infrastructure. Today, these farmers carefully handpick their cherries, ensuring high-quality harvests while experimenting with new varietals like Obata. The story of Hermosa is not only about excellent coffee but also about the dedication of a community that transformed its livelihood through collaboration, innovation, and respect for the land.
