Kibaya Lot 2 is a Rwanda Washed Bourbon coffee processed at Rwamatamu’s Mbare washing station. It offers tasting notes of lemon, orange sherbet, apricot, raisin, and black tea. Rwamatamu Coffee, a family-owned business, focuses on sustainable employment, sourcing cherries from affiliated cooperatives, local producers, and smallholder farmers. The coffee is fully washed with spring water, sun-dried, and handpicked to a high standard. The estate spans 20 hectares of coffee farmland in Rwanda’s Western Province. Coffee from Rwamatamu has a tropical highland climate, allowing Arabica coffee to thrive, with harvest season typically running from January to March. The team is currently working towards organic and fair-trade certifications and places strong emphasis on social and economic impact, particularly supporting women in coffee production.
